1. Download the Coinbase Wallet App
Visit the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and search for "Coinbase Wallet."
Download and install the Coinbase Wallet app (this is different from the Coinbase exchange app).
2. Create a New Wallet
Open the App: After installation, launch the Coinbase Wallet app.
Create New Wallet: Select "Create New Wallet."
Agree to Terms: Review and accept the terms of service.
3. Set Up Your Wallet Username
Create Username: You’ll be asked to choose a unique username, which will allow others to send you crypto easily.
Privacy Option: You can opt to keep your username private if you don’t want it visible to others.
4. Backup Your Recovery Phrase
The app will generate a 12-word Recovery Phrase.
Important: Write down this phrase and store it somewhere safe. It’s your only way to recover your wallet if you lose your device.
Confirm the Recovery Phrase: You’ll be prompted to enter the words in the correct order to verify.
5. Set a Password or Biometric Lock
Set up a password, PIN, or enable biometric security (like Face ID or fingerprint) for added security on your device.
6. Fund Your Wallet
You can add crypto by purchasing through Coinbase, or by transferring crypto from another wallet or exchange.
Click "Receive": This will display your wallet address for sending funds into your Coinbase Wallet.
7. Explore dApps and NFTs
Coinbase Wallet supports decentralized apps (dApps) and NFTs such as the LFJ exchange: https://lfj.gg/avalanche
You can connect your wallet to dApps by selecting the “Browser” tab in the app and entering the URL of the dApp you want to use.
